‘Temet Nosce’ know thyself, The Oracle’s kitchen doorway.

I painted this sign as I am a fan of The Matrix films and I believe everyone should know themselves. The 'Temet Nosce' sign hangs above the Oracle's kitchen doorway in the first Matrix movie and this sign is my artistic version on the original.

The panel is a simple square edged 18mm thick, 25cm x 7cm piece of Mdf, which I painted in green acrylic paint, the lettering and scrolls I painted using 1Shot Sign Painters Gloss.

This sign is a perfect sign for any room, especially when hung above the doorway as it adds a touch of unique eye-catching movie charm to the home even if you are not in The Matrix.

This is a great sign for those who appreciate traditional craftmanship over the quick click print culture

I painted this sign, using traditional signwriting techniques and products, skills which I learnt many years ago, then reluctantly discarded; a lost love I have recently rekindled.

Being hand painted this sign is unique, individual and its characteristics in the lettering and artwork reflect my own ability with a brush as no part of it was machine printed.

I use salvaged panel materials when appropriate to add aesthetically qualities to my signs and to also help the planet.
